1.2083 Steel Characteristics
1.2083 mold steel, with plastic mold steel as the main type. It contains up to 15% or more chromium, thus possessing excellent wear resistance, acid resistance, and polishing performance. The factory condition of this steel is usually softening or annealing, with a hardness range of 215-240HBW. In addition, 1.2083 mold steel is usually quenched, tempered, and annealed through heat treatment during the manufacturing process to obtain better performance and extend the lifespan of tools and molds.
1.2083 mold steel has multiple application scenarios. It is suitable for electro etching operations, especially for acidic plastics and molds that require good polishing. Moreover, due to its excellent wear resistance, it is also widely used in the production of PVC molds, as well as some molds that require long-term use, such as disposable tableware molds and medical containers. In addition, 1.2083 mold steel is also widely used in the production of optical product components, such as cameras and sunglasses.
